The dessert “yellow cake” was originated in the period of Three Kingdoms, which is a specialty in Sichuan and Guizhou. Traditional yellow cake is mainly made of glutinous rice, rice and brown sugar. Pulp the rice, steam the glutinous rice and heat the brown sugar to melt. Mix the materials and put in pot with a cover for about half an hour. During the process, the rice pulp naturally blends with the glutinous rice. Then rub it into small blocks, wrap by leaves and tied by rope. The dessert is finished after steaming the leave packs in the cage drawers. Now the yellow cake has further subdivided tastes, adding longan, sugar, bacon and dates in raw materials, so there are richer varieties.
